Week #1: God’s Word
Jesus has just come from his baptism by his cousin John! He has been touched by the Holy Spirit and God said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matt. 3:17 (Couldn’t have asked for a better confirmation than that)
Christ has been led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He is there to fast and pray, but satan wants him to fail.
Satan does his best work to tempt Christ, but doesn’t stand a chance.
My favourite verse throughout this entire chapter is so simple and yet something I can stand on and stay grounded in my faith.
3The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[NIV]”
Todays Devotional is simple and quick:
Meditate on His Word.
I am a fan of meditating on God’s Word…which is my way of saying I think about it over and over again until it sinks in and is something I can recite when I need it.
I have seen many blogs and sites working on bible journaling and they are a lovely way to memorize scripture and can help you focus on what you are reading.
The only problem is I am no artist! No amount of tutorials or videos are going to help me create beautiful pictures.
So I have created my own, colouring page version of bible journaling.
Simply print off the picture and start colouring. Grab whatever you happen to have on you ( I have young children so crayons it is) and get meditating on the most important part of your life…scripture!
To print off the file, simply Click on the link below the picture. Enjoy!
