Marriage: When your own advice is far from the best…

Proverbs 28:26 (NIV)

Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.

Proverbs 16:16 (NIV)

How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!

Proverbs 13:10 (NIV)

Marriage is hard sometimes. Truly a test of every part of you…the selfishness and pride you wish would leave you just creeps up and nips at your spouse until they start to nip back. It can get down right ugly at times…but God has a way!

Our selfishness and pride can be rough sins to admit and remove. Being prideful can cause you to form an ice over your once warm heart.  I say all this as a reminder to myself…something that I am learning about and growing in…with the help of much wiser and more experienced counsel of course! I am learning that I am not the women I should seek counsel from when dealing with my own marriage. My sight is clouded by the above selfishness and pride that started the whole mess.
